We are seeking a Jr. Test Automation Developer with interest and a passion in testing, building automation scripts, and supporting test automation frameworks for distributed systems on the GUI and/or API. The ideal candidate would be innovative and have great problem solving and analytical skills.
The Jr. Test Automation Developer will be responsible for supporting the design, automation, and maintenance of test scripts to ensure automation aligns with testing initiatives and continuous integration. In this role, you will support existing automation frameworks and related best practices as well as document and perform manual testing, where applicable. While working closely within, and across teams, the Jr. Test Automation Developer will ensure quality standards are met, and performance improvements are made. To ensure consistency across development, test, and production environments, you will collaborate on the documentation of test cases, and test processes and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Test GUI and/or API software efforts from analysis through implementation
•Design, automate, and maintain and debug test scripts
•Drive Risk-Based Testing conversations between business sponsors and developers
•Participate in testing, analysis, and communication of results
•Help drive Behavior Driven Development (BDD); use BDD to reconcile business and technical requirements
•Ensure best practices and standards are followed; maintain and oversee proper documentation
•Work under supervision; communicate with management on the status of tasks and projects and initiate requests to escalate problems, when needed
•Perform other duties and projects as assigned
Salary Commensurate with Experience
Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OF POSITION:
• Typically requires a bachelor's degree in related field.
• A combination of post-high school education, job related certification and related experience equivalent to 4 years may be considered in lieu of a degree.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS OF POSITION:
• Foundation level Software Testing Certification; (i.e. ISTQB)
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
•Knowledge of basic forms of testing, including: Functional, System, Integration, Regression, Exploratory, Negative, Smoke
•Some experience with scripting languages using Java, C#, VBScript, or related languages/technologies
•Some experience testing and automating GUI, including desktop/mobile applications, browsers and/or REST and SOAP Services
•Some experience with Unified Functional Tester (UFT), Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), or other related testing tools
•Knowledge of Integrated Development Environments (IDE)
•Knowledge of source repositories, such as GitHub
•Some experience with SQL and general knowledge of RDBMS concepts
•Understanding of the difference and purpose of both GUI and API testing
•Strong organizational and time management skills
•Strong technical and operational problem-solving skills
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Excellent customer service skills
•Strong ability to work in a team oriented environment
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work is performed in an office environment with moderate noise levels and light to heavy traffic. An individual in this position:
• Frequently remains stationary throughout a typical business day
• Frequently operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
• Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, and other rooms
• Occasionally positions self to access drawers and shelves of various heights
• Frequently reaches for and handles paperwork and files
• Constantly communicates with customers, coworkers, and management in-person and on the phone
• Must be able to exchange accurate information
