The Loan Systems Support Analyst collaborates with Loan Operations project sponsors on project needs of the mortgage and consumer lending areas of the Bank. Individuals in this job assist and collaborate with business and technology teams in the research, evaluation, testing, implementation, support, and ongoing administration of consumer technology solutions for the company. This position will primarily be responsible for implementing and maintaining the Bank’s Loan Origination System (Encompass). The applicant should have a background in residential lending processing and compliance. Project work may vary over time and may involve working with different groups to develop solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Attends project meetings as a subject matter expert on the various loan systems, and contributes to discussions on necessary changes as well as impacts to user, including any necessary research.
Works with project teams to plan and execute enhancements to loan systems, including identification of necessary changes to meet business goals and comply with regulations
Research and answer staff Encompass questions, and provide assistance and feedback to staff on procedural issues and questions
Assists with gathering information on system defects, prioritizing fixes of these defects, and communicating defects to IT and users.
Responsible for testing and implementing Encompass system quarterly and monthly releases to determine the impact of proposed changes
Serve as primary business administrator of the Encompass system which includes the ability to trouble shoot problems and make configuration changes (pending proper training).
Responsible for communicating (verbal and written) information on loan system updates effectively to various audiences.
Work as a subject matter expert for vendors, project sponsors, and project teams to effectively communicate system, process, and control requirements
Responsible for maintaining accurate and thorough documentation of important project information that may need to be referenced.
Effectively implement change management procedures to document loan origination system changes over time
Serve as subject matter expert during regulatory exams to gather and interpret data from system
Work closely with compliance subject matter expert to implement compliant processes in loan origination system
Work closely with training subject matter expert to develop effective training content for end users
Perform other duties and projects as assigned
Understand and comply with all provisions of the Safety in the Workplace policy
Salary commensurate with experience.
Minimum Qualifications of Position
Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in related field and a minimum of 3 years of related experience. A combination of post-high school education, job related certification and related experience equivalent to 7 years may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements.
Preferred Qualifications of Position
2+ years in residential lending processing including a working knowledge of applicable regulations
Ability to learn quickly and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
Ability to work independently and drive multiple small to medium tasks to completion simultaneously
Ability to provide outstanding customer service to all staff and management personnel
Robust understanding of loan processes from point of sale through servicing and secondary
2+ years of experience as a proficient Ellie Mae Encompass user/administrator
Certified Encompass administrator preferred
Knowledge and Skills
Strong critical thinking analysis
Aptitude to learn quickly
Good knowledge of testing and documenting testing results
Organized and methodical approach to processes and of information gathering
Ability to translate customer needs into technology and process solutions while coping with rapidly changing information
Basic understanding of loan terminology and loan workflow interdependencies and relationships.
Maintains an awareness of First Bank's operational consumer loan processes and procedures
Effective time management, organization, and multi-tasking skills
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Work is performed in an office environment with moderate noise levels and light to heavy traffic. An individual in this position:
Frequently remains stationary throughout a typical business day
Frequently operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, and other rooms
Occasionally positions self to access drawers and shelves of various heights
Frequently reaches for and handles paperwork and files
Constantly communicates with customers, coworkers, and management in-person and on the phone
Must be able to exchange accurate information
