Description Provides administrative and analytical support to lending officers during the loan process. Coordinate with multiple parties to ensure documentation is received, verified, and timelines are accurate. Manage loan process from application to closing. Provides leadership and mentoring as applicable to other loan staff.


In addition to the duties described in the Loan Specialist job description, a Sr Loan Specialist has the following duties:

• Administer commercial escrow accounts

• Assist officers with files reviewed by Loan Review

• Provide training and mentoring to Loan Specialists and Loan Reps

• Other duties as assigned based on market/regional needs

• Understand and comply with all provisions of the Safety in the Workplace policy


• Must be able to be registered with NMLS


• Strong understanding of FirstBank loans, loan policy, processes, and procedures

• At least three years as a FirstBank Loan Specialist or other related experience/proven mastery of Loan Specialist duties


• In depth understanding of lending concepts

• Strong understanding of compliance, regulations, and internal loan policy

• Strong customer-service skills

• Ability to switch quickly and effectively between tasks and customers

• Ability to navigate several bank/loan applications and systems (LRMS, Salesforce, Document Imaging, etc.)


Work is performed in an office environment with moderate noise levels and light to heavy traffic. An individual in this position:

• Frequently remains stationary throughout a typical business day

• Frequently operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer

• Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, and other rooms

• Occasionally positions self to access drawers and shelves of various heights

• Frequently reaches for and handles paperwork and files

• Constantly communicates with customers, coworkers, and management in-person and on the phone

• Must be able to exchange accurate information
